Move in 和 move out at 火博体育大学 is the perfect time to focus on sustainable lifestyle habits 和 how you can integrate them into how you manage 你的东西. The main issue during move in/out is the disposal of perfectly good material, like unopened food, furniture, clothing, 和 unopened 化妆品. All of which not only add to the amount of waste produced but are also likely to be repurchased… that's throwaway culture!!

- Be conscious of the waste you are producing 和 recycle when you can.

- Cardboard can be recycled in your recycling rooms or kitchens- collapse the boxes to make them easy to move 和 be courteous to your neighbors 和 housekeeping.

- Storage Units: There are a few local companies that have storage units you can rent to store your stuff here in Saratoga, especially if you can’t bring it home! 广场15 和 生活存储 are local storage options that are both less than 10 minutes away from campus!
- 捐出你不想捐的 给予+行动! This is an annual program designed to gather used items from students at the end of year to donate to local 和 regional nonprofits where they can then be reused or 转售. Either way, this program diverts tons of good material that would otherwise be put in the l和fill 和 allows students to give back to their community. 自 the program started in 2007, over 100 tons of material has been diverted from the 填埋和捐赠!! In just the 2018-2019 school year, 给+去 diverted 20吨垃圾填埋场的好材料!
