的 primary role of the 安全 Committee is to design, implement 和 maintain a comprehensive safety program that supports 和 encourages a safe work environment for all employees 和 is compliant with all external laws 和 regulations.

会员: Two faculty members, one student member, one non-exempt staff member, all appointed by the President 和 serving staggered three-year terms; one union representative/UPSEU serving one year appointments; representatives from the Departments of Health Services & 人力资源, 和 the Vice President for Academic Affairs 和 Dean of the Faculty or her/his designee.  的 Chief 人力资源 Officer 和 the AVP for Finance/Controller serve as co-Chairs 根据标题.  Additional members may be appointed to the Committee by the co-Chairs as appropriate.

 

Principles 和 Goals

Skidmore's safety policies are basic to the principles of safe operations 和 requirements 我们的校园. 的 college, in keeping with these principals 和 goals, will provide qualified personnel, adequate facilities 和 equipment to support the program. 的 following goals are fundamental to a successful operation:

  • implement appropriate programs 和 policies to protect employee health 和 safety,
  • identify 和 prevent occupational injuries 和 illnesses,
  • ensure management seeks to define, initiate, 和 maintain programs 和 procedures to support a safe work environment that is compliant with applicable laws 和 regulations 和
  • continued development of programs 和 ongoing employee training 和 education in occupational health 和 safety.
